Once again here on the Isle of Man we have been blessed with dry sunny conditions with no problems around the course.

We started the days racing at 12.15 with Guy Martin 600cc Honda / Hydrex Honda Racing going into a first lap lead from Ian Hutchinson 600cc Honda / Padgetts Racing of just a little over 3seconds with 5 Bruce Anstey 600cc Suzuki / Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing just 1.7 seconds behind. But it was Bruce Anstey  who took up the gauntlet with a second lap of 17mins 53.32sec at a speed of 126.549mph breaking his own lap record giving him a lead of 7sec's after the second lap on now second place Ian Hutchinson and Guy Martin slipping to third. Bruce Anstey extended his lead to 10 sec's at the end of the third and was speeding to victory when he was reported to have stopped at Brandywell and Ian Hutchinson 600cc Honda / Padgetts Racing accepted the lead and was followed in by Guy Martin and Keith Amor on his 600cc Honda / Wilson Craig Racing

The next event on the TT course had more than just a casual look about it, and for the first time in the world we had a race practice of Electic Powered Racing Motorcycles. Battery powered bike with all the looks of a normal racing machine  : - But Silent, Watching from Ramsey we all needed to be warned the bike were coming as silently they glided down into the square and were soon not to be seen. It has been reported all these machines have speeds over 100mph and one reported to have a top speed of around 150 mph. Little is still known by the general public, but after todays lap we seen what was almost surely a bike of the future. Perhaps a racing bike that will bond itself to the rigors of the Isle of Man TT course. Everyone was pleasantly surprised at these marvelous battery powered machines which had come from all over the World, one even being built here on the Isle of Man. We look forward to the race proper on Friday of these 15 / 20 machines

The Royal London 360 Superstock at 6.30 with the day cooling and a cover of cloud it made for ideal riding conditions and at the end of the first lap  John McGuinness 1000cc Honda / Padgetts Racing at a speed of 128.538mph in 17mins 36.72secs had an advantage of  less than one second over  number 4 Ian Hutchinson 1000cc Honda / Padgetts Racing  with 3 Keith Amor 1000cc Honda / Wilson Craig Racing  again less than a second behind him .  The race was rode in this fashion with never more than a few seconds between the first two. It was Hutchinson who lost time with his pit stop with fueling problems but then he took flight in the last lap breaking the  lap record  as he had done on the second lap, pushing the speed up to a recoed 129.746mph which ensured his win. Second down just under 7 seconds was 8 Guy Martin 1000cc Honda / Hydrex Honda Racing and third Keith Amor 1000cc Honda / Wilson Craig Racing  giving the same positions as the previous race

But the day will be remembered by a lot of spectators as the day the Battery operated Racing Motorcycle came alive
